Due to its varying topography, moderate temperature, and winding roads, Jordan has become the prime destination for motorcycling in the region.

Riding through Jordan, you experience everything from flat highways, to downhill swerves, to uphill twists and turns, and off-road routes, as well.

The diverse landscape of Jordan serves as an incredible backdrop to any ride, alternating between seas and deserts, mountains and valleys.

For you to experience the excitement of riding in Jordan, the RMCJ has mapped out different routes to different parts of the country, complete with downloadable GPS coordinates, maps, and photos.

Jordan
Routes

This route takes you to the rose city of Petra, with 266 km of breathtaking views and smooth riding on the Kings Highway. The meandering road takes you past Al-Mujib Dam, the small village of Al-Rabba located in the Karak governorate, through Al-Shobak and several other villages to reach the magnificent city of Petra, a World Wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

From there, the highway can either take you back to the Dead Sea by heading north, or to the sunny seaside city of Aqaba in the south, past Wadi Feynan and Wadi Araba.

Route details: the route is around 266km (one way). Elevation is extreme from -360m in the Dead Sea area to 1680m near Al-Shobak. Maximum slopes are 47% / -39%. Average slopes are 3.9% / -3.8%.

Jordan
Routes

Through the Desert Highway to Zumayla, the route takes you off-road towards Qasr Tuba, an Umayyad castle south-east of Amman.

Route details: the off-road part of the route is around 85km. Elevation varies from 700m to 920m. Maximum slopes are 4.7% / -6.5%. Average slopes are 1% / -1%.

Jordan
Routes

The northern part of Jordan is the greenest and most abundant. As you leave Amman heading to Ajloun through As-Salt city and Kofranjah, the roads wind through lush green hillsides lined with olive groves.

On this route, you will spot various archeological sites such as Ajloun Castle, which dates back to the 12th century. The castle commands views of the Jordan Valley and three wadis leading into it, making it an important strategic link in the defensive chain against the Crusaders and a counterpoint to the Crusader Belvoir Fort on the Sea of Galilee in Palestine.

Route details: the route is around 225km. Elevation varies from -200m to over 1090m. Maximum slopes are 16% / -20%. Average slopes are 4.8% / -5.2%.

Jordan
Routes

This route covers 256km of highway to Irbid, passing through the Roman city of Jerash and the picturesque Um Qais, an ancient city in northern Jordan. Continuing on northwest of Irbid through Wadi Al-Arab, you will catch a glimpse of Lake Tiberia, before heading back through the Jordan Valley and the curvy mountain road to As-Salt back to Amman.

Route details: the route is around 256km. Elevation varies from -210m to 1100m. Maximum sloes are 19% / -25%. Average slopes are 3.4% / -4.1%.

Jordan
Routes

This route takes you to Madaba, the city of mosaics. Across Mahes and downhill through the Al-Shouneh village of the Jordan Valley, passing the Dead Sea, it is a hilly ride with scenic views. From the lowest point on earth, you climb the mountains towards Madaba, through Ma’in hot springs, Machaerus, and Mount Nebo, from which you get a glimpse of Palestine.  

Route details: the route is about 235km. Elevation varies from -330m to 950m. Maximum slopes are 21% / -23%. Average slopes are 3.7% / -3.9%.
